Rising Phoenix Sports Program
A sports-based youth development program for girls+ in juvenile justice facilities
Every girl+ can #RiseUp towards a bright future.
We use the healing power of sports to teach resilience, leadership, and well-being skills.
Anyone who's played sports knows the life lessons that can be learned on the playing field. We're bringing those lessons to the girls+ who need them most. We know there is no such thing as a "bad kid" and every kid can #RiseUp from a bad situation towards a bright, successful future.
An estimated 85% - 95% of incarcerated girls have experienced family violence or sexual abuse prior to their involvement with the justice system. Our program prioritizes healing, mentorship, and empowerment in an effort to reduce the retraumatization, revicitmization, and recidivism of these girls+.
